RIO VISTA TITANS MUSIC NEWSLETTER

Week of August 30th-September 3rd

Marching Practice Monday August 30th from 2:30-4:30. Students should wear tennis shoes and comfortable clothing. Sunscreen is recomended.

Our first uniform fitting for Concert band and Drum Line has been rescheduled for September 18th from 9:00-2:00pm. All students need to be present for the fitting so that we are prepared for our marching events this fall.

If you have an e-mail account, please e-mail Mr. garcia at bgarcia@centralusd.k12.ca.us so that I may put your e-mail in my list serve. This enables me to keep you informed and up to date with information regarding any changes to the schedule or additions to the calander.

Any guitar students interested in purchasing a guitar should visit Gottschalk"s Music Center in Clovis. They are located on 328 Pollasky Ave and thier phone number is 298-4400.

Dear Students and Parents

We are very excited about your child"s participation in the 2010 Rio Vista Middle School Titan Marching/Concert Band! You have joined in a year that will be full of many memorable moments for you and your family. As we have prepared our calendars we are asking for your support in attending all rehearsals so they will be productive without the stress of falling behind due to absences. Every member of the band is important and must have the basic skills needed to perform with confidence and musicality.

2011 Spring Trip: Heritage Festival Disneyland Competition
April 15th-17th

Rio Takes First Place at Great America Music in the Parks competition!
The students received a Superior rating for the first time at this competition. This is a great achievement for our music program at Rio Vista. Great job Titans! We received a 93 out of 100 points possible.

A special thanks to our entire group of parent chaperones who attended this trip. You were all so easy to work with and helped make this trip possible. Thanks to you are kids were well looked after and had a great time at the park.

As always donations of water and snacks are needed and we gladly accept money in any amount.

IT IS ALWAYS A GREAT DAY TO BE A TITAN!
